When to Update Your Home Insurance Policy
1st November 2016

Nobody likes to think about it, but accidents happen.

Which is why, when it does happen, you want to know that you can still provide for your family, even if you can’t work.

Personal accident insurance is designed to ensure you, your family and business associates are financially covered in the unfortunate event of an injury, permanent disability or death caused by an accident.

At CC&A Insurance Brokers, we offer customised and niche insurance that provides employers with financial assistance in the event of an employee being unable to work, as well as ensuring families are taken care of their time of need.

We often think that accidents only happen on the road when there are cars involved, but accidents can happen at any time, which is why at CC&A, our scope of cover ranges from business hours to business hours plus commuting, all the way up to 24-hour cover.

Being a victim of an accident, whether it is at work or on the road, can be hard enough to deal with without having to worry about how you’re going to pay your medical expenses. Depending on the scale of your cover, personal accident insurance will help you cover your bills and any ongoing therapy you may need. It may even cover the cost of any alteration you may need to make to your home in order to accommodate your injury.

Our Personal Accident Insurance policy covers:

  • Accidental Death
  • Permanent Total Disability (from usual occupation)
  • Permanent Disability (for a particular disability)
  • Temporary Total Disability (compensation for up to 104 weeks)
  • Temporary Partial Disability (40% compensation per week for up to 104 weeks)
  • Medical Expenses

We also offer:

  • Aviation Cover – which provides pilots and crew with Accidental Death, Permanent and Temporary Disability and Medical Expenses
  • Occupational HIV Cover – which is normally taken out by doctors and nurses to provides cover for accidental contact with bodily fluids or blood
  • Keyman Cover – which pays out a lump sum in the event that a key employee is permanently injured or deceased in the event of an accident

Not all personal accident insurance benefits are the same. Some only cover accidents, while others only cover medical conditions, or there may be exclusions involved such as undertaking hazardous pursuits or acts of war. Our advice would be to sit with one of our consultants to make sure that your complete financial requirements have been taken into account and that we’re able to provide you with cover that is tailored to your needs.
